Truman Wages and Mary Beatrice Stewart


Truman Wages, son of Jasper O'Neathel Wages and Myra Jane McClain, was born on 10 Dec 1908 in Cleveland, Arkansas. He died on 17 Feb 1984 in Yakima, Yakima, Washington, at the age of 75. He married (1) Mary Beatrice Stewart on 27 Aug 1927 in Jefferson, Arkansas and they divorced on 02 Dec 1938 in Arkansas County, Arkansas. He married (2) Beatrice Brown on 15 Sep 1939 in Desha County, Arkansas.

Mary Beatrice Stewart, daughter of Monroe W. Stewart and Mollie J. Cole, was born on 30 Dec 1912 in Arkasnas. She died on 02 Sep 2001 in Dothan, Houston, Alabama, at the age of 88, she is buried in Gardens of Memory (Kinsey, Houston, Alabama). She married (2) John A. West on 27 Apr 1949, in Arkansas County, Arkansas.

Truman Wages lived in Arkansas when gem fever hit after diamonds were discovered in the state. Truman Wages was living in Arkansas, in 1908 when the boll weevil devastated nearby cotton fields. Mary Beatrice Stewart was living in Arkansas, in 1912 as the boll weevil continued to devastate cotton fields. Truman Wages was a young boy living in Hurricane, Arkansas, in 1910, around the time the Boy Scouts of America was founded.

When the United States declared war on Germany in 1917, officially entering World War I, Truman Wages was probably living in Hurricane, Arkansas. Mary Beatrice Stewart was also in Arkansas at this time.

In 1910, Freeman (Truman) Wages was one (1) year old and lived in Hurricane, Arkansas with his father, mother, and four (4) sisters. In 1930, he was 21 years old and lived in Owen, Arkansas with his wife, Beatrice, and son. On 22 May 1942, he was convicted of drunk driving; Truman was fined $100 plus court costs and lost his driver's license.

On 01 Apr 1940, Beatrice West was 27 years old and lived in Prarie, Arkansas with her husband, John, and four (4) sons.
